Maria Smedstad’s new comic strip, ACE, is a bit more mature than Em but still funny.
Following up on her popular comic strip, Em, Maria Smedstad now has a new strip: ACE. It’s about three girls and their day-to-day problems. Maria has grown older and so have the characters in ACE. Amy, Cat and Elsa are slightly older than Em and her friends.
ACE is a British strip that we like to call Swedish. Its creator, Maria Smedstad, moved from Sweden to the UK as a fifteen-year-old in order to study illustration. She made her breakthrough there with the autobiographical strip Em.
And yes, ACE is written in capitals. It’s an acronym for the three friends Amy, Cat and Elsa.
